[Ir(2-(2-pyridyl)phenyl)2(4'-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine)]PF6 is a luminescent cyclometalated iridium(III) complex featuring a carboxyl-functionalized terpyridine co-ligand (tpy-COOH) and two 2-(2-pyridyl)phenyl (ppy) cyclometalating ligands. It exhibits intense room-temperature emission attributed to a triplet ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (3LLCT) state involving electron transfer from the ppy ligands to the terpyridine moiety. The complex demonstrates potential for optoelectronic applications due to its luminescent properties in both solution and solid-state forms. No direct evidence links this specific complex to two-photon imaging or nuclear histidine targeting, as described for structurally related probes in the literature.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 884588-82-3 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 8,8,4,5,8 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 884588-82:
(8*8)+(7*8)+(6*4)+(5*5)+(4*8)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*2)=243
243 % 10 = 3
So 884588-82-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A benzoic acid terpyridine-based cyclometalated iridium(iii) complex as a two-photon fluorescence probe for imaging nuclear histidine

Zhang, Qiong,Lu, Xin,Wang, Hui,Tian, Xiaohe,Wang, Aidong,Zhou, Hongping,Wu, Jieying,Tian, Yupeng

, p. 3771 - 3774 (2018)

A series of two-photon active cyclometalated iridium(iii) complexes (Ir1, Ir2 and Ir3) were designed. Ir1 with a two-photon action cross-section of 40 GM in the NIR region has been developed for targeting intracellular histidine. Two-photon micrographs showed that Ir1 could rapidly and selectively light up the nucleus in both fixed and live cells and is capable of displaying nuclear histidine distribution in ultra-detail using a super resolution (SR) technique under stimulated emission depletion (STED) microscopy.

Ionic luminescent cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes with polypyridine co-ligands

Neve, Francesco,Deda, Massimo La,Puntoriero, Fausto,Campagna, Sebastiano

, p. 1666 - 1672 (2006)

Two novel ligands containing a functionalized N ∧ N chelating moiety (pbpy-OBut and tpy-COOH, respectively) were treated with [Ir(ppy) 2(μ-Cl)]2 (ppy = 2-(2-pyridyl)phenyl), leading to the cationic cyclometalated complexes [Ir(ppy)2(pbpy-OBut)]+ (2) (pbpy-OBut = 4-{4′-(4-phenyloxy)-6′-phenyl-2,2′-bipyridyl} butene) and [Ir(ppy)2(tpy-COOH)]+ (3) (tpy-COOH = 4′-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine). Complexes 2 and 3 exhibit intense room temperature luminescence both in solution and as solid films. Assignment of the emissive behavior to a 3LLCT (ppy-to-N ∧ N) excited state is proposed.
