C-C bond-forming desulfurizations of sulfoximines

(Figure Presented) Highly substituted, enantiomerically pure azaheterocyclic ring systems play an important role in medicinal chemistry as potential peptide mimetics. Metalated 2-alkenyl sulfoximines offer an efficient entry to this class of compounds. In this paper, we describe a new means to remove the sulfonimidoyl auxiliary with concomitant formation of a C-C double bond.
