The invention relates to substituted 1,2,4-thiadiazolyl pyrrolones and 1,2,4-thiadiazolyl hydantoins of general formula (I) and salts thereof, wherein the groups of general formula (I) are defined as cited in the description, and to the use thereof as herbicides, in particular for controlling weeds and/or weed grasses in crops of useful plants and/or as plant growth regulators for influencing the growth of crops of useful plants.
