The new cluster Rh4(μ4-PPh)2(cod)4 (cod = cyclo-octa-1,5-diene) has been prepared by the reaction of Li2PPh with Rh2(μ-Cl)2(cod)2 or the reaction of Rh2(μ-PPh2)(μ-Cl)(cod)2 with Li and has been spectroscopically and structurally characterized.
