Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 89941-28-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 8,9,9,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 89941-28:
(7*8)+(6*9)+(5*9)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*2)+(1*8)=186
186 % 10 = 6
So 89941-28-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Identification and determination of cystathionine sulfoxide and NAc-cystathionine sulfoxide in the urine of a patient with cystathioninuria using liquid chromatography/atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometry

Zhang,Masuoka,Ubuka,Kodama

, p. 1296 - 1302 (1995)

Novel cystathionine metabolites, cystathionine sulfoxide and NAc-cystathionine sulfoxide, were identified in the urine of a patient with cystathioninuria using liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry with an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization interface system. NAc-cystathionine sulfoxide was discovered as a new metabolite of cystathionine in the urine of a cystathioninuric patient. The concentrations of cystathionine sulfoxide and NAc-cystathionine sulfoxide in this urine were also determined for the first time using this method, and were 28.69 ± 0.44 and 10.51 ± 0.49 mg g-1 creatinine, respectively. Neither compound was detected in the urine of healthy subjects.

S-alkylated homocysteine derivatives: New inhibitors of human betaine-homocysteine S-methyltransferase

Jiracek, Jiri,Collinsova, Michaela,Rosenberg, Ivan,Budesinsky, Milos,Protivinska, Eva,Netusilova, Hana,Garrow, Timothy A.

, p. 3982 - 3989 (2007/10/03)

A series of S-alkylated derivatives of homocysteine were synthesized and characterized as inhibitors of human recombinant betaine-homocysteine S-methyltransferase (BHMT). Some of these compounds inhibit BHMT with IC 50 values in the nanomolar r
