9012-33-3 Usage

Description

EC 3.2.1.30, also known as β-N-acetylglucosaminidase, is a lysosomal enzyme that catalyzes the hydrolysis of N-acetyl-β-D-glucosaminides and N-acetyl-β-D-galactosaminides. It plays a crucial role in the degradation of glycoproteins and glycolipids within lysosomes and has potential applications in various fields.

Uses

Used in Chemoenzymatic Synthesis:
EC 3.2.1.30 is used as a biocatalyst in chemoenzymatic synthesis of oligosaccharides, leveraging its effective transglycosylation of β-GlcNAc and β-GalNAc. This application is valuable for the production of complex carbohydrate structures with potential applications in pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, and materials science.
Used in Studying Alzheimer's Disease:
EC 3.2.1.30 may serve as a useful tool in studying Alzheimer's Disease, as it is involved in the hydrolysis of specific glycoconjugates that could be implicated in the pathogenesis of the disease. Understanding the enzyme's role could provide insights into developing therapeutic strategies for Alzheimer's.
Used in Biofilm Detachment:
Acetylglucosaminidase from Canavalia ensiformis, a source of EC 3.2.1.30, has been used to study enzymatic detachment of biofilms. This application is relevant in the fields of microbiology and biotechnology, where controlling biofilm formation and detachment is crucial for various industrial processes and medical treatments.

Biochem/physiol Actions

β-N-Acetylglucosaminidase from Streptococcus pneumoniae is an extracellular glycosidase and has broad specificity over the β1-3 and β1-6 linkages present in mucins. It belongs to the glycoside hydrolase family 85 (GH85). Also called endo-β-N-acetylglucosaminidase, it cleaves at the asparagine residue of the di-N-acetylchitobiose structure in oligosaccharides and acts on fucosylated N-glycan core. Its deglycosylation functionality is exploited in studying functions of glycoproteins.

Purification Methods

Purify it by chromatography on DEAD-Biogel, hydroxylapatite chromatography and gel filtration through Sephacryl S200. Two isoforms: a hexosaminidase EI with Km 177WM

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 9012-33-3 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,1 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9012-33:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*1)+(3*2)+(2*3)+(1*3)=73
73 % 10 = 3
So 9012-33-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
