The reaction of nitroformaldehyde arylhydrazones with acrylonitrile and acrylamide under the conditions of the Michael reaction was investigated.It was established that the reaction takes place at the most nucleophilic center, i.e., the NH group of the arylhydrazone group, with subsequent cyclization to previously unknown 1-aryl-3-nitro-4-imino- or 1-aryl-3-nitro-4-oxo-5,6-dihydropyridazines.
