A simple and efficient method has been developed for the synthesis of 1-substituted-3-(4-chlorobenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl) ureas (5), from substituted aromatic or aliphatic amino compounds and phenyl 4-chlorobenzo[d]thiazol-2-yl carbamate 4 using microwave irradiation without phosgene in good yields. The title products were characterised by 1H NMR, ESI-MS, and elemental analysis.
