Used in Molecular Biology Applications:
Bovine albumin is used as an enzyme or protein stabilizer for preventing adhesion to reaction tube surfaces or pipette surfaces, and as an inert stabilizer during incubation to allow proper enzyme or protein function.
Used in Immunoassays:
Bovine albumin is used as a blocking agent to minimize non-specific antibody binding in immuno-detection procedures such as western blotting, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Used in Cell Culture Media:
Bovine albumin is used as a supplement in cell culture media to provide essential nutrients for cell growth and maintenance.
Used in Protease-Sensitive Assays:
Bovine albumin is used as a stabilizer for enzymes during digestion of DNA and to prevent adhesion of the enzyme to reaction tubes and other vessels.
