Trapping products consistent with the formation of radical intermediates a to and on the ring carbon of cyclo-butadieneiron tricarbonyl have been synthesized. These examples constitute the first strong experimental evidence for the formation of radicals derived from cyclobutadieneiron tricarbonyl.
