Thw title compound was prepared by three different methods: Balz-Shiemann reaction, halogen exchange, and by direct N-oxidation of 2-fluoropyrazine.The resulting 2-fluoropyrazine 1-oxide was reacted with a variety of nucleophiles to yield the corresponding 2-substituted pyrazine 1-oxides.
