The anhydrides of exo,endo- and exo,exo-3,4,5,6-tetrachlorotricyclo2,7>-undeca-3,5-diene-9,10-dicarboxylic acids form the corresponding anhydrides of endo- and exo-3,4,5,6-tetrachlorotricyclo2,7>undeca-3,5,7-triene-9,10-dicarboxylic acids under the influence of bromine.It was found that the 4s + ?2s>-cycloaddition of these componds to planar unsymmetrical dienophiles leads to normal adducts with the observance of the Alder endo rule.
