Total synthesis of (+)-fawcettimine

An effective combination: With the first asymmetric total synthesis of fawcettimine (1) it has been shown that the use of organocatalytic annulation and gold(I)-catalyzed cyclization reactions provides an effective combination for the synthesis of complex molecules.
