The α,β-unsaturated thiocarbonyl system of 5-arylmethylene-4-thioxo-2-imidazolidinone (1) undergoes cycloaddition reaction with N-phenylmaleimide, acrylonitrile, ethyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate and β-nitrostyrene to afford the hitherto unreported thiopyrano-2-imidazolidinones (2-5).
