Appropriate protected deoxyguanosine and deoxyuridine derivatives, respectively activated at O6 and O4 positions by the 3-nitro 1,2,4-triazol 1-yl group, were reacted with ethylene glycol, ethylenediamine or ethanolamine to give monoalkylated nucleosides or cross-linked dimers or cross-linked dinucleosides.
