93952-10-4 Usage
Uses
Used in Water Treatment Industry:
BroModichloroMethane-13C is used as a tracer for identifying water leaks in the water treatment process. Its presence in trace amounts allows for the detection and location of leaks, ensuring the efficient distribution of water resources.
Used in Swimming Pools:
In swimming pools, BroModichloroMethane-13C is used as a tracer due to its presence as a result of chlorination. This helps in monitoring the water quality and identifying any potential issues related to water leaks or contamination.
Used in PVC Polymerization:
BroModichloroMethane-13C is used as a chain transfer agent in the polymerization process of PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride). Its role in the process contributes to the production of high-quality PVC materials, which are widely used in various industries for applications such as pipes, films, and cables.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 93952-10-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,3,9,5 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 93952-10:
(7*9)+(6*3)+(5*9)+(4*5)+(3*2)+(2*1)+(1*0)=154
154 % 10 = 4
So 93952-10-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of mixed halogenated trihalomethanes labelled with the stable isotopes 2H or 13C
Vermeulen,Sangaiah,Ball,Gold
, p. 835 - 843 (2007/10/02)
2H and 13C-labelled bromodichloromethane and chlorodibromomethane were obtained in yields of 20 and 12% (for 2H) and 6 and 3% (for 13C) respectively from a convenient aluminum chloride-catalyzed reaction of bromoethane with commercially-available isotopically-substituted chloroform. The products were purified by preparative gas chromatography and-characterized by MS and 13C NMR, and by 1H for the 13C-labelled material; mass and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy data are reported.
