Treatment of [(η5-C5Me5)Re(CO)2(NO)]BF 4 with LiPR(SiMe3) in ether afforded the novel phosphaalkenyl complexes (η5-C5Me5)(CO)(NO)ReC(OSiMe3)=PR (R = SiMe3, t-Bu, Ph). Analogously (E)-(η5-C5H5)-(CO)(NO)Re-C(OSiMe 3)=P-t-Bu was obtained from [(η5-C5H5)Re(CO)2(NO)]BF 4 and LiP(t-Bu)(SiMe3). The course of the reaction was monitored by 31P NMR spectroscopy and indicated formation of phosphinocarbonyl complexes (η5-C5R′5)(CO)(NO)ReC(O)P(R)SiMe 3 via nucleophilic addition of phosphide to a CO ligand prior to the 1,3-silyl migration from phosphorus to oxygen. The molecular structures of (η5-C5Me5)(CO)(NO)ReC(OSiMe 3)=P-t-Bu (7b) and (η5-C5H5)(CO)(NO)ReC(OSiMe 3)=P-t-Bu (8b) were established by complete single-crystal diffraction studies.
