Stereochemistry of substitution of vinylic fluorines in 1-phenylpentafluoropropenes 1E and 1Z by the ethoxide ion, alkyllithium reagents, and lithium dialkylamides have been studied, and rates of the substitution of vinylic fluorines and chlorines in alkenes 1 and in 1-phenyl-1,2-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropenes 4E and 4Z by the diethylamino anion have been measured under pseudo first order conditions.Reactions of alkenes 1 with highly branched alkyllithium reagents were attempted.A tentative explanation to the opposite effects of the increasing bulk of C-nucleophiles and N-nucleophiles on the regioselectivity of their reactions with alkenes 1 is proposed.
