Highly chemoselective metal-free reduction of tertiary amides
Barbe, Guillaume,Charette, Andre B.
, p. 18 - 19 (2008/09/20)
This communication describes the chemoselective metal-free reduction of tertiary amides to the corresponding amines. Hantzsch ester is used as a mild reducing agent for the reduction of trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride activated amides providing the tertiary amines with high functional group tolerance. Copyright

Page/Page column 51; 98, (2008/06/13)
The invention relates to the use of piperidine derivatives encompassed from the general formula (I) for the control of pests, including arthropods and helminths, and a method for the control of pests.
Selective cleavage of N-benzyl-protected secondary amines by triphosgene
Banwell, Martin G.,Coster, Mark J.,Harvey, Michael J.,Moraes, John
, p. 613 - 616 (2007/10/03)
A series of competition experiments has revealed that selective cleavage of N-benzyl-protected secondary amines can be achieved with triphosgene, thereby providing a useful range of carbamoyl chlorides.
