The reaction of 2-phenylacetyl-1-morpholino-1-cyclohexene, 2-phenylacetylcyclohexanone, or 1-phenylacetyl-1-cyclohexene with cyanothioacetamide leads to 1-benzyl-4-cyano-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3(2H)-isoquinolinethione.The product was used in the synthesis of substituted 3-amino-8-benzyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothienoisoquinolines and systems condensed with them.
