Synthesis and Characterisation of some New 2,6-Disubstituted Thiazolotriazine-3,7-diones

The addition of dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate to 3-thioxo-1,2,4-triazin-5-ones afforded in good yield cycloadducts which were characterised by i.r., mass, and 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectroscopy.On the basis of their 13C chemical shifts and C,H coupling constant measurements the products were identified as 6-substituted (Z)-2-(methoxycarbonylmethylene)thiazolotriazine-3,7-diones.
