Usage

General Description

MK-3207 HCl, also known as vadadustat, is a chemical compound used in the treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult patients. It works by stimulating the production of red blood cells through the inhibition of hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase, an enzyme involved in the regulation of erythropoiesis. This leads to an increase in the levels of erythropoietin, the hormone responsible for red blood cell production, ultimately improving the hemoglobin levels in patients with CKD. Vadadustat is currently being studied in clinical trials and shows promise as an alternative treatment for anemia in this patient population.
