1,3-Butadienylaziridines or 1,3-butadienylazetidines activated by N-tosyl group smoothly rearrange to vinylpyrroline derivatives or vinylpiperidines in the presence of a catalytic amount of Pd(PPh3)4.Triphenyltin radical induced rearrangement of title compounds is also described.
Pd(0) PROMOTED TRANSFORMATION OF N-TOSYL-2-(1,3-BUTADIENYL)-AZIRIDINE INTO N-TOSYL-2-VINYL-3-PYRROLINE

, p. 857 - 860 (2007/10/02)
1,3-Butadienylaziridines activated by N-tosyl group smoothly rearrange to vinylpyrrolidine derivates in the presence of a catalytic amount of Pd(PPh3)4.Transformation of dienylazetidines into vinylpiperidine derivatives is also described.
Synthesis and Epimerization Studies of 1-Alkyl-2-carbomethoxy(benzyloxy)-4-methylazetidines
Soriano, David S.,Podraza, Kenneth F.,Cromwell, Norman H.
, p. 1389 - 1392 (2007/10/02)
A number of 1-alkyl-2-carbomethoxy(benzyloxy)-4-methylazetidines have been prepared by reaction of primary amines with α,γ-dibromo esters.Only one isomer was isolated from the reaction mixture. α-Aminolactones can also be obtained as the minor product of the reaction sequence.
Synthesis of 2-Carboxy-4-methylazetidine. A Novel Isomeric Analog of DL-Proline
Soriano, David S.,Podraza, Kenneth F.,Cromwell, Norman H.
, p. 623 - 624 (2007/10/02)
L-Azetidine-2-carboxylic acid is a naturally occuring azetidine currently used in the synthesis of abnormally high molecular weight polypeptides. The synthesis of 2-carboxy-4-methylazetidine is now reported which is a novel isomeric analog of DL-proline.Re
