A simple preparative route to novel 1,4-dithiafulvene derivatives 7-10 from the title compound 3 and CH acidic substrates is described.The complexes of the electron-rich 1,4-dithiafulvalene 7e with DDQ or TCNQ show low electrical conductivity.
