Reactions of the title compounds 1 with ozone in pentane, on silica gel, or on alumina gave no ozonides, but the corresponding mono- and diketone 3 and 4, mono- and di-epoxide 5 and 7, as well as epoxy ketone 6.Ozonation of 1 on polyethylene afforded mono-ozonide 9 and further ozonation of the latter gave an epoxy ozonide 10.
