Key Word Index - Viburnum suspensum; Capriforiaceae; iridoid glycosides; suspensolides A, B, C; suspensolide aglucone; p-coumaric acid; sitosteryl β-glucoside; scopolin; bitter principles.Abstract - Three iridoid glycosides of an aglucone having a 7,8,10,11-tetraoxygenated iridoid skeleton with an isovaleryl group at C-1 have been isolated from the leaves of Viburnum suspensum, along with p-coumaric acid, sitosteryl β-glucoside and scopolin.Two of the iridoid glycosides, suspensolides A and C, and the suspensolide aglucone are bitter to the taste.Suspensolide C is the third example of an iridoid D-ribohexo-3-ulopyranoside.
