Racemic anhydrocannabisativine has been efficlently synthesized starting with a β-lactam-imino ether coupling reaction.A key step in the formation of the tetrahydopyridine moiety of anhydrocannabisativine is a stereoselective intramolecular conjugate addition of the N-11 amino group to a Z,E-dienone.
