The addition of the little compound to the acetylene and the azo derivative, resp., leads to C5 functionalized dihydropyrrolizines.Competitive 1:1 and 1:2 adduct formation is observed using the diethyl azodicarboxylate.A significant antiinflammatory activity is shown for the 5-hydrazopyrrolizine derivative (1:1-adduct).
