98661-43-9 Usage
Molecular structure
Contains a tetrahydroisoquinoline group and a diol group.
Tetrahydroisoquinoline group
A six-membered ring with five carbon atoms, one nitrogen atom, and two ethoxy groups attached to carbon atoms 6 and 7.
Tetrahydroisoquinoline group
Found in many natural and synthetic biologically active compounds.
Diol group
Two hydroxyl (OH) groups attached to a propane molecule, which is a three-carbon chain.
Diol group
Often used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates.
Potential applications
Pharmaceutical research and drug development.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 98661-43-9 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,8,6,6 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 98661-43:
(7*9)+(6*8)+(5*6)+(4*6)+(3*1)+(2*4)+(1*3)=179
179 % 10 = 9
So 98661-43-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A SIMPLE EFFICIENT SYNTHESIS OF A NEW, VERSATILE TETRAHYDROISOQUINOLINE-1,3-AMIOALCOHOL SYNTHON
Kobor, Jeno,Fueloep, Ferenc,Bernath, Gabor
, p. 2227 - 2231 (2007/10/02)
Through the addition of 2 moles of formaldehyde to 1-methyl-6,7-dimethoxy- and 6,7-diethoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline, the corresponding 1--6,7-dialkoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinolines (3a,b) were prepared, which were then reduced to the 1,3,3'-trifunctional tetrahydroisoquinoline aminoalcohol synthons (5a,b).
