Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 98755-30-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,8,7,5 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 98755-30:
(7*9)+(6*8)+(5*7)+(4*5)+(3*5)+(2*3)+(1*0)=187
187 % 10 = 7
So 98755-30-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Reactivities and Specific Inhibitory Effects of 1,3,4-Thiadiazolopyrimidine on SH Enzymes

Suiko, Masahito,Umeda, Kazuhiro,Nakatsu, Seiichiro

, p. 1037 - 1040 (2007/10/02)

We studied the reactivity of 2-ethylsulfonyl-7-methyl-5H-1,3,4-thiadiazolopyrimidin-5-one (TPSO2-2) with some amino acids, SH, OH, and histidine enzymes.TPSO2-2 reacted with L-cysteine in high yield (80-90percent), but with glycine and L-serine in low yield (below 10percent).To clarify the relative reactivity of TPSO2-2, its reaction with L-cysteine in the presence of ethanol and diethylamine was examined.TPSO2-2 reacted only with the SH group of L-cysteine, not with ethanol nor diethylamine. To elucidate the reactivity of TPSO2-2 toward enzymes, the inhibitory effects of TPSO2-2 on some enzymes containing cysteine, serine, or histidine in the active center were investigated.TPSO2-2 showed high inhibitory effects on SH enzymes, such as yeast alcohol dehydrohenase, glutamate dehydrogenase, and hexokinase, but no effect on trypsin, which has serine, or catalase, with histidine in the active center.TPSO2-2 appeared to be a specific inhibitor of SH enzymes.
