Park, Tae Kyo,Schroeder, Joseph,Rebek Jr., Julius
, p. 2507 - 2518 (2007/10/02)
New synthetic receptors for guanosine derivatives are introduced and evaluated using solubility titration methods. Base-pairing and some aromatic stacking effects are observed in CDCl3.
Convergent Functional Groups: Synthetic and Structural Studies
Rebek, Julius Jr.,Marshall, Luann,Wolak, Raymond,Parris, Kevin,Killoran, Mary,et al.
, p. 7476 - 7481 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis of new molecular systems in which carboxyl groups are directed at well-defined microenvironments is described. The structures are obtained by condensation of suitable aromatic diamines with triacid 4a.Crystallographic studies establish the structural details of the systems and lead to the design and preparation of systems featuring a molecular cleft. These new molecules resemble enzymes in which carboxyl groups converge at the active sites.
