A series of 3-aryl-6-methyl-1H-4,1,2-benzoxadiazine-5,8-diones have been synthesized by the reaction of 6-bromotoluquinone (1) with aromatic acid hydrazides (IIa-i).The structures of the compounds have been established by preparing their acetates and on the basis of spectral data.
