About us

Lipotec is a privately owned company founded in 1989 by Dr Antonio Parente. The company started as a small operation located at the Local Development Agency of Barcelona City Council, with strong links to both academia and the pharmaceutical industry. These links have been responsible for the innovative spirit of the company from its origins, and are reflected by our staff, a highly trained and skilled team including Ph.Ds, science graduates, and qualified technicians. After only 5 years the company relocated to larger facilities in the adjoining city of Hospitalet de Llobregat. Ten years later the sustained success and growth drove Lipotec to its current location in Gav, close to Barcelona airport. The company moved at the end of 2002 to this new facility specially designed and built to accomodate all the administrative, research and manufacturing areas. Works to enlarge the facility to twice its current size started at the end of 2006. The company's core business was originally built around two technology platforms: peptides and delivery systems.
