About us

Vancouver Biotech LTD (VBL) has been and will always be dedicated to the development of innovative products in immunodiagnostics of human and animal health care markets. Since 1981, Andrology Laboratory, a research and clinical facility, at UBC Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, has been committed to research and development of a specific area of biotechnology -- hybridoma technology. Antibodies produced by hybridoma technology are constant in characteristics and mono-specific (called monoclonal antibodies). The advantages of monoclonal antibodies are numerous. The most important features are: permanent sources in forms of established cell lines; high specificity; superior quality and mass production. These unique advantages of monoclonal antibodies are extremely important for successful development of products for immunodetections of human health conditions. Based on this work, Vancouver Biotech LTD (VBL) was established in 1989 through a comprehensive royalty agreement with the University of British Columbia.  Click for details>>
