In 1933 Willy Lloyd founded WSL for the purpose for trading general produce such as feathers, egg products and vegetable oils with China. In the early 1960s, in a fast changing world and with expansion in mind the company began to utilise their large numbers of existing contacts and wider international links were forged. Based in the UK the company's principle area for the distribution of oils and related products has long been in Europe, but today WSL trades worldwide with subsidiary companies and representative offices in South Africa, Paraguay and Russia.
