2,4-Pentanedione (acetylacetone), if present or released, is harmful if
swallowed, irritates the skin, and severely irritates the eyes. 2,4-
Pentanedione has caused mutagenic and reproductive effects in laboratory
animals and is also flammable. No information is known about the amount
of free 2,4-pentanedione present in or released by this compound.
