general description

a colorless, slightly viscous liquid with a mild pleasant odor. used to make soaps, dyes, and other chemicals.

usage

can be used for dye solvent of wood. solvent of oil soap, petroleum sulfonate, as non-paint colorant and intermediates for the preparation of organic compounds in organic synthesis industry, as well as analysis of chemical reagent and so on.

slightly denser than water and soluble in water. oxidizes readily in air to form unstable peroxides that may explode spontaneously.
