sodium silicate is the common name for compounds with the formula (na2sio2)no. a well-known member of this series is sodium metasilicate, na2sio3. also known as waterglass or liquid glass, these materials are available in aqueous solution and in solid form. the pure compositions are colourless or white, but commercial samples are often greenish or blue owing to the presence of iron-containing impurities.

application

1. in the chemical system, strengthening coal mine, made of silica gel, silica, zeolite molecular sieve, five water partial sodium silicate, silica sol, silicon layer, and instant powder sodium silicate, potassium silicate sodium silicates of various products, is the basic raw material of silicon compounds.
2.in the light industry: paper, washing powder and soap and detergent indispensable raw materials, but also water softener, help settling agent;
3. in the textile industry for help dyeing, bleaching and sizing;
4. in the machinery industry: widely used in casting, grinding wheel manufacturing and metal preservatives, etc.;
5. in the construction industry for subway shield, tunnel grouting, making quick drying cement, acid resistant cement waterproofing oil, soil curing agent, refractory material etc.;
6. also used as oil catalytic cracking of silica alumina catalyst, corrugated adhesives, ceramic raw materials, mining beneficiation, waterproof and plugging, fireproof wood and adhesive.
