1.Introduction of 3-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran

The IUPAC name of 3-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran is oxolan-3-ol. With the CAS registry number 453-20-3, it is also named as 3-Hydroxyoxolane. The product's categories are Alcohols and Derivatives; Heterocycles; Furans; Building Blocks; Heterocyclic Building Blocks, and the other registry number is 84921-89-1. Besides, it is light yellow liquid, which should be stored in sealed, ventilated, dry place away from other oxides. 4.Preparation of 3-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran

This reaction needs aq. H2O2 and Titanium silicate-1 at temperature of 24.9 °C. The reaction time is 18 hours. The yield is 82 %.



5.Uses of 3-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran

The 3-Hydroxytetrahydrofuran  can be used in organic synthesis. Similarly, it can react with Benzoyl chloride to get 3-Benzoyloxytetrahydrofuran.



This reaction needs Pyridine at temperature of 10 °C for 10 hours. The yield is 82 %.
