- Kaempferol and its glycosides from Equisetum silvaticum L. from the khanty-mansi autonomous area

Three flavonoids were isolated from the aerial part of the wood horsetail (Equisetum silvaticum L.); two of them were found for the first time. The compounds were identified as kaempferol, kaempferol 3-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-7-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside and kaempferol 3-O-rutinosyl-7-O-L-rhamnopyranoside on the basis of the chemical transformations and IR, UV, 1H-NMR and mass spectra.

- Method For Preparing Kaempferol-3-0-Rutinoside and Composition of Skin External Application Comprising Thereof

Disclosed is a method for the preparation of kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside and a composition of a skin external application comprising kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside as an active ingredient. The method for isolating kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside through hydrolysis uses an enzyme or microbe that removes the sugar selectively from kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside glycosides in a plant extract. Disclosed also is a composition of a skin external application comprising kaempferol-3-O-rutinoside that prevents skin wrinkle.

- Two flavonol glycosides from seeds of Camellia sinensis.

Two novel flavonol triglycosides, camelliaside A and B, have been isolated from seeds of Camellia sinensis. The structures were determined to be kaempferol 3-O-[2-O-beta-D- galactopyranosyl-6-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl]-beta-D-glucopyranoside and kaempferol 3-O-[2-O-beta- D-xylopyranosyl-6-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl]-beta-D-glucopyranoside on the basis of spectroscopic, chemical and enzymatic studies. These types of interglycosidic linkages, Gal(1----2)[Rha(1----6)]Glc and Xyl(1----2)[Rha(1----6)]Glc, have not been reported previously in flavone and flavonol glycosides.

Leaves of Hosta ventricosa yielded eight kaempferol glycosides, of which six: the 3-(2G-glucosylrutinoside)-7-glucoside, 3-sophoroside-7-glucoside, 3-rutinoside-7-glucoside, 3-(2G-glucosylrutinoside), 3-sophoroside, 3-rutinoside were fully characterized and two: 3-xylosylrutinoside-7-glucoside and 3-xylosylrutinoside were tentatively identified.Investigations included 1H-1H-COSY and 1H-1H 2D J NMR analysis.

- The final structure of robinin and biorobin and their total synthesis

Robinin has been proved by total synthesis and by methylation analysis using GC-MS to be kaempferol-3- O-(6-O-α-l-rhamnopyranosyl -β-d-galactopyranoside)-7-O-α-l-rhamnopyranoside and not, as claimed by Maksjutina et al., a mixture of 4 glycosides containing the 7-O-rhamnosyl moiety in the α- and β-furanoside as well as in the α- and β-pyranoside forms. The assumption that the 3-O-rhamnosido -galactose moiety contained furanoid rings was also disproved.
