The invention described herein pertains to ligand-ionophore conjugates, that may also comprise a linked therapeutic agent or imaging agent, and pharmaceutical compositions containing the conjugates. Also described are methods of using the conjugates for increasing the endosomal accumulation and escape of a therapeutic agent, or an imaging agent.

- Photolabile caged ionophores and method of using in a membrane separation process

The present invention describes a family of photolabile caged ionophores. The compounds of the present invention are photolytically cleavable esters of nigericin, ionomycin, A-23187, 4-Br-A-23187 and monensin. The photolysis of the present compounds allows the release of the free ionophore in vivo or in vitro with precise spatial and temporal control. The compounds are useful in the study of ion transport and control in cells and across membranes.

New 3-Imino-1,2,4-benzotriazine-1-oxides of formula I SPC1 wherein R represents an alkyl, alkenyl or haloalkyl radical, a phenyl or aralkyl radical optionally substituted by alkyl, alkoxy, haloalkyl, halogen or hydroxy, X and Y each independently represent hydrogen, halogen, an alkyl or alkoxy radical, or one of the two symbols represents a phenoxy or phenylsulphonyl radical optionally substituted by halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl and/or alkoxy which are active against harmful microorganisms are disclosed.
