Preparation: this chemical can be prepared by 1,10-Dichloro-decane. This reaction will need reagent NaI, solvent Acetone. And this reaction need heating. The reaction time is 24 hours. The yield is about 90%.

Uses of Decane,1,10-diiodo-: it can be used to produce Decane at temperature of 20 °C. It will need reagent Raney nickel and solvent Tetrahydrofuran with reaction time of 6 hours. The yield is about 92%.
