A coarse size-grading device used for ores, coal, and mineral aggregate. It consists of a grid of parallel steel bars separated by a distance determined by the size separation desired. It is set at an angle of approximately 45 degrees so that lumps that are too large to pass through it can roll down the bars while the smaller sizes fall into a container beneath.
