The Guaiac wood oil, with the CAS registry number 8016-23-7, is also known as Champacawood oil. Its classification codes are: (1)Natural Product; (2)Skin / Eye Irritant; (3)TSCA UVCB. This chemical is irritating to skin and will solidify at low room temperature. It should be sealed and stored in a ventilated and dry place. This chemical is mainly used as essence in spices, cola beverages and smudging. It can also be used as fixative agent and coordination agent. It can be prepared by the woodiness of Bulnesia sarmienti, Guaiacum officinale and G.sanctum through steam distillation.
