Promazine hydrochloride Safety Profile

Poison by ingestion, subcutaneous, intravenous, intraperitoneal, and intramuscular routes. Human systemic effects by ingestion: general anesthesia, tremors, antipsychotic effects. An additive permitted in food for human consumption; also permitted in the feed and drinking water of animals and/or for the treatment of food-producing animals.

Promazine hydrochloride Specification

The IUPAC name of Promazine hydrochloride is N,N-dimethyl-3-phenothiazin-10-ylpropan-1-amine hydrochloride. With the CAS registry number 53-60-1, it is also named as 10-(3-(Dimethylamino)propyl)phenothiazine hydrochloride; 10-H-Phenothiazine-10-propanamine, N,N-dimethyl-, monohydrochloride; Chlorowodorek promazyny; Phenothiazine, 10-(3-(dimethylamino)propyl)-, hydrochloride; Sparine. 

The Promazine hydrochloride is an active pharmaceutical ingredient. It is soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, chloroform, but insoluble in benzene and ether. When heated to decomposition it emits toxic fumes of NOx, SOx, and HCl. This product is harmful if swallowed. It may cause sensitization by skin contact. If you want to contact this product, you must wear suitable protective clothing.
