Sodium lignosulfonate Specification

Sodium lignosulfonate , with CAS number of 8061-51-6, can be called Reax 83A ; Reax 85C ; Sanekis P 550 ; San-X P 252 ; Sodium lignosulfite ; Sodium lignosulfonate ; Sodiumlignosulfonic acid ; Sulfonated lignin sodium salt . It is soluble in water with the release of hydrogen ions. The resulting solutions have pH of less than 7.0. Sodium lignosulfonate is used in the food industry as a de-foaming agent for paper production and in adhesives for items that come in contact with food.

Preparation of Sodium lignosulfonate: Sodium lignosulfonate is made from raw material of wood, after a series of process of filtration, inspissation, chemical modification and spray drying. It is a kind of natural anionic surfactant of high molecular polymer, which is rich in sulfo group and carboxyl and has better water-solubility, surfactivity and dispersion force.

Uses of Sodium lignosulfonate: Sodium lignosulfonate (lignosulfonic acid, sodium salt) is used in the food industry as a de-foaming agent for paper production and in adhesives for items that come in contact with food. It has antimicrobial and preservative properties, and is used as an ingredient in animal feeds. It is also used for construction, ceramics, mineral powder, chemical industry, textile industry (leather), metallurgical industry, petroleum industry, fire-retardant materials, rubber vulcanization, organic polymerization.
