Halide Ligands

The substitution of halide ligands in platinum(II) complexes is a common reaction. For example, substitution of a chloride ligand in a platinum(II) complex with a different halide ligand (e.g., bromide or iodide) can be achieved through the reaction with the corresponding metal salt. The reaction is often facilitated by the presence of a suitable solvent and/or a base.
