DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 64 (Pharmaceutical Analysis) A sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method to det. the antipsychotic risperidone (RSP) is proposed, based on the catalytic effect of risperidone on the CL reaction between luminol and hydrogen peroxide in flow system. The increment of CL intensity was correlated with risperidone concn. in the range of 10 pg ml-1 to 1.0 ng ml-1 with a relative std. deviation of less than 5.0% (n = 5); and a limit of detection of 4 pg ml-1 (3s). There are some commonly used reagents like 106266-06-2 in this article. At a flow rate of 2.0 mL min-1, the flow injection CL method exhibited both high sensitivity and excellent selectivity giving a throughput of 120 samples per h. The proposed method was applied successfully to the detn. of risperidone in pharmaceutical prepns. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The acute and chronic administration effects of risperidone (Ris), a mixed 5HT2/D2 receptor antagonist, vs. haloperidol (Hal) on dopaminergic and serotoninergic activity were investigated in the rat prefrontal cortex (Pfc), and the whole striatum (Str) as well as sep., in dorsal striatum (StrD) and nucleus accumbens (Acb). During acute administration, Hal was found to be more potent than Ris in increasing DA turnover rate in StrD. In contrast, during chronic administration, Ris but not Hal, continued to increase DA turnover activity in StrD. Moreover, in contrast to Hal, chronic Ris treatment continued to increase DA and 5-HT turnover rate in Pfc. These differential effects reveal that Hal does not share common characteristics with Ris with respect to its neurochem. 106266-06-2 and 50-67-9 are just another two chemicals used in this study. profile in the Str and Pfc. .
