The mixt. was adjusted to pH 9.3 with NaOH and stirred 30 min to reduce the pH to 8.1 to give a desired resin having sp. gr. 1.20 (30°), viscosity 63 cP (30°), and solids content 57% after heating 30 min at 170°.
