Thus, I was prepd. by cooling a mixt. of N1,N2-dispirotripiperazinium dichloride [1589-04-4], LiOH, water and ether to 5°-10° and adding an ethereal soln. of b-bromopropionyl chloride [15486-96-1], filtering the soln. and pouring into MeOH soln., cooling to 0° and filtering. I, when administered i.v. in single doses of 500-600 mg daily, is well tolerated by patients. The efficiency of the compd. was demonstrated in 54 patients with leukemia. When I was administered i.v. in doses of 100-1000 mg it caused a pos. effect in 45% of patients. In 20% of patients suffering from acute lympho- and mieloregional leukemia a complete remission was obsd.
